This free app from iHi - independent-Hotels.info - provides access to a unique selection of small independent hotels in France, Spain and the UK.
All hotels in this directory have been chosen on account of their good qualities and their good user reviews. This is not just another directory of expensive luxury hotels; the iHi directory includes a range of small independent hotels in all price brackets except the ultra-expensive, and properties in the directory vary from some delightful unclassed "hostals" in Spain, where rooms can be had in 2017 for less than 40€ a night, up to some good-value five-star boutique hotels in out-of-the way spots in France.
The majority of hotels in the directory come into the 2-star to 3-star brackets.
Directory listings include essential information appropriate for the location. For instance, hotels on the outskirts of Paris, chosen on account of their accessibility to public transport, include car parking information and distance to a metro or RER station. Hotels in rural areas do not normally include this kind of information, as they are presumed to have free parking; however proximity to a railway station or cycleway may be indicated.
Size: in most areas the iHi directory does not list hotels with more than 40 rooms; many hotels are indeed much smaller. However in some cities and suburban areas, attractive independent hotels with both character and less than 40 rooms are often hard to come by, and the iHi directory lists hotels with up to 80 rooms. In suburban areas, a major listing criteria is a hotel's accessibility, both by car from outside the city, and by public transport to get into it.
iHi is a traveller information website, not a reservations site. iHi does not take hotel bookings directly, does not require user logins, does not track users, and stores absolutely no personal data or any nature. To book hotels, iHi directs visitors either directly to the hotel's own website, or more frequently to one of the major booking portals, Booking.com or Hotels.com.
